CHINA FOCUS

 MAY 1 –  AT 5 P.M.
BLA

The China Focus wants to offer a look at today’s Chinese society through the lens of short films.

China is a strong presence in our lives and it is therefore useful to explore its many nuances and facets, going beyond the often superficial visions that inform common-sense knowledge about this country.

The aim is to offer a wide and penetrating look at a series of elements of society, culture and artistic expressions in contemporary China – and beyond – starting with cinema.

At the end of the screening, a round table moderated by Federico Picerni, PhD candidate in Chinese literature at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, will explore domestic migration, politics, collective imagination and the fantasies of Chinese culture with the participation of Sabrina Ardizzoni, professor of Chinese language and culture at the University of Bologna, and Clara Longhi, mediator and expert in Chinese cinema.
