Ennesimo Film Festival is back!
Fiorano becomes the capital of the Cinema District on the 5th, 6th, 7th May
The second edition of Ennesimo Film Festival, an international short film event, will take place at the Astoria Theatre in Fiorano Modenese on May 5th-7th. Three days of cinema and a rich calendar of events.
A first preview of the Festival will be held on Saturday 29th April at Teatro Astoria, with the conclusion of the Non è l’Ennesima Giornata di Scuola project, involving 8 classes and over 200 students from the “Francesca Bursi“ and “Giacomo Leopardi“ comprehensive institutes in Fiorano. Over the course of three months, the students have taken part into an image education project aiming at learning how to write a review. On the morning of the 29th, the students will meet at Teatro Astoria to enjoy a preview of the short films from the official selection, appoint the Ennesimo Youth Prize, and have their reviews concur for the Ennesimo Best Review Prize.
«The official competition will start on Friday 5th May at 9.15 pm with the screening of twenty short films selected from over 1600 applications from 58 countries – explains Federico Ferrari. – The range of competitors will include the international premiere of Der Tunnel, making its very debut during our Festival, as well as 10 Italian premieres. By choosing Ennesimo as a platform to introduce their film to the Italian audience, so many authors and producers are showing us a trust that represents a source of pride and gratification not only to our staff and their work, but also to the Municipality of Fiorano Modenese and the sponsors who believe in the event, offering us their technical and economic support».
«In addition to the short films – continues Mirco Marmiroli – three special events will enrich the Festival’s calendar. On Saturday 6th at 9 am will take place the educational seminar Information and critique. The TV series phenomenon across the web, radio and other alternative media, organized in collaboration with the Order of Journalists and the Giornalisti dell’Emilia Romagna Foundation. On Sunday night, right before the award celebration, we will host the first concert of Banda Rulli Frulli’s new tour, presenting their show Il mare dalla luna. As a testament to the increasing quality of the project as well as our intentions of pursuing a high-level selection of contents, the Festival will open with the screening of JR Artist’s Ellis, starring Oscar-winning Robert De Niro».
Access to all events is free. The audience attending the Friday and Saturday screenings will be able to rate each competing short film, concurring to the assignment of the Ennesimo People’s Choice Prize. During Sunday 7th closing night, the Ennesimo Critics’ Choice Prize will be assigned by the Official Jury, consisting of Andrea Chimento (Sole24ore), Enza Negroni (President of DER – Documentaristi Emilia-Romagna) e Roberto Roversi (President of Arci Ucca).
