It’s John’s first day at school. His eleven- year-old bigger brother Miha accompanies him, but he has another mission to complete: teaching John the hard facts of the world, starting with what happens in the schoolyard.

Maria Eriksson Hecht graduated in Film Directing from Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 2017 Maria was selected among 10 young groundbreaking European film directors, winning the scholarship FUTURE FRAMES: Ten filmmakers to follow from the European Film Promotion at Karlovy Vary Film Festival. “Schoolyard Blues” was screened in more than 100 festivals, earning 35 awards.

Maria Eriksson Hecht è laureata in Regia alla Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. Nel 2017 è stata selezionata fra i 10 registi più rivoluzionari d’Europa, vincendo la borsa di studio FUTURE FRAMES: Ten filmmakers to follow della European Film Promotion al Karlovy Vary Film Festival. “Schoolyard Blues” è stato proiettato in oltre 100 festival, vincendo 35 premi.
