L’Avamposto: a burning planet, a man’s dream, and Pink Floyd

Out of Competition – APRIL 30 AT 8.30 PM AT  TEATRO ASTORIA

After capturing the attention of the public and critics at the Giornate degli Autori of the latest Venice Film Festival, where it premiered as a Special Event, “L’avamposto,” the documentary film by Edoardo Morabito, arrives in Fiorano Modenese as part of the Ennesimo Film Festival. An adventurous and daring road movie that combines the themes of the climate emergency, the Amazon Forest, and the irresistible cult of Pink Floyd. A visionary and political film that tells us about the contradictions that animate the preservation of the planet. The protagonist seems to remind us of the necessity of utopias and a warning for humanity: to survive, we need to rediscover desire and the right amount of imagination.

As the world burns and we watch climate change as if it were the live streaming of the great spectacle that is the apocalypse, Chris feels invested with a mission: to save what remains of the Amazon. By any means possible. ‘L’avamposto’ is certainly a film about the end of the world or at least about the destruction of the natural world by human hands. But it is above all a film about the importance of dreaming to start imagining possible futures again… Because dreaming, as Chris would say, means acting in cosmic perspectives. – says Edoardo Morabito
