War Game, stories of war and hope

Out of competition – MAY 5 AT 3 PM AT BLA

If it is true that cinema narrates the human being, it cannot exempt itself from narrating war. This theme has been widely explored, with different nuances: from the neorealism of Rome, Open City and Bicycle Thieves to the epic tales of Hollywood. The artistic sensitivity required in dealing with this subject does not exclude the ability to recount the crude reality and consequences that war brings, and the way it manages to influence the existence of the entire community involved.

War Game is an invitation to reflect on the complexity of the world. Each film is a heap of intense stories, set in different geographical and temporal contexts, that offer us a perspective on a conflict and its impact on human lives.
